Our History
Master Brown's Karate School has been voted "The Best Karate School" for seven consecutive years, and we're proud to continue this tradition of excellence. Founded by Grandmaster Hwang Kee in 1945, Soo Bahk Do is a unique blend of hard and soft styles, combining dynamic Korean kicking techniques with Oriental hand techniques. This balance makes Soo Bahk Do one of the most effective methods of unarmed self-defense known to man.

Meet Our Master
Master Gary Brown has been studying and teaching the art of Soo Bahk Do since 1977. With over 40 years of experience, Master Brown is a senior master in the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation and has served as the Regional Examiner of the Mid-Southeast United States since 1992. He is a certified teacher by the State of South Carolina and holds a Master's Degree in Education from the University of South Carolina.
