Our restaurant and bar has been an integral part of the Clare community for many years, with a rich history that dates back to its inception as the 'Village Pub'. Over the years, the bar has evolved and changed ownership, but one thing has remained constant - our commitment to providing quality service, great food, and exceptional entertainment.

In 2015, Ruckle's Pier came under new ownership, with Jason Ricketts at the helm. Jason, originally from Midland, was drawn to the opportunity to breathe new life into this beloved local institution. With a strong focus on improving the bar and providing an exceptional dining experience, Jason has worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all patrons.

Our Story

Ruckle's Pier has a long and storied history in the Clare community. The bar was first opened as the 'Village Pub', serving local residents for many years. In the early 1980s, the business was purchased by Gary Ruckle, who split the bar into two separate entities - 'Downtown Danny's' and 'Ruckles'. For many years, the two bars operated side by side, until Downtown Danny's closed its doors in the late 1990s. At this time, the entire building was united under the 'Ruckles' name.

In 2001, two sisters purchased the bar from Gary Ruckle and managed it for nearly 14 years. When the bar and grill went up for sale in 2015, it was in need of some fresh new ideas and a positive change. This is when Jason Ricketts, the current owner, stepped in and seized the opportunity to bring new life to Ruckle's Pier.

Since taking over in May of 2015, Jason has been dedicated to providing quality service, great food, and unique hometown entertainment. He has worked closely with his wonderful staff, many of whom have been with Ruckle's for over 10 years, to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all patrons.

Our Services

At Ruckle's Pier, we offer a wide range of services to ensure that every visit is an exceptional experience. From delicious homemade pizzas and mouthwatering burgers to live music events and special meal deals, there's always something new and exciting happening at Ruckle's.

Our menu features a variety of options to satisfy any appetite. Start with one of our unique appetizers, such as Jalapeno Poppers, Broccoli Cheese Bites, Breaded Pickle Spears, or Mini Corn Dogs. Then, indulge in one of our famous homemade pizzas, with 15 different toppings to choose from. Or, try one of our specialty pizzas that are sure to please. Our menu also includes a selection of mouthwatering burgers, including the Cowboy and Mushroom Swiss Burgers, as well as delicious dinners like the Wet Burrito and Boneless Wings with your choice of sauce.
