Our Founders

MayCab Companies, Inc. was founded by Michael Maynez and Jose Luis Cabrera, two individuals with a shared passion for design and construction. Michael Maynez, Co-Founder and President, was inspired by his father's construction business from a young age. He pursued his passion by earning an Associate of Science Degree in Computer Aided Drafting from ITT Tech. Michael is a driven individual with a strong work ethic, and he attributes his success to his father's teachings over the years. He enjoys working with clients, helping them design and build their dream home, and finding innovative ways to introduce convenience into everyday living.

Jose Luis Cabrera, Co-Founder and Chief Project Manager, also developed an interest in design and building at a young age. After graduating from ITT Tech with an Associate of Science Degree in Computer Aided Drafting, Jose began his career in drafting and design with M.E. Engineers. He was involved with high-profile projects including the Staples Center, LAC+USC Medical Center, and the Home Depot Center (now StubHub Center). Jose is a true perfectionist with a passion for design and building, and he has designed almost 200 homes throughout Torrance, the Beach Cities, and the PV Peninsula since 2005.

Design

Our design team will work closely with you to understand your dreams and make them a reality. We can create a floor plan, furnishing, and decorating your home all on a 3D model or 360 VR. We brainstorm numerous ideas and layouts to provide our clients with several options. We handle all permits and submissions to the city your home is in, ensuring your project is approved and permitted.

Construction

As a general contractor, we will hire and organize all necessary sub-contractors for your construction job. We provide materials, obtain necessary permits, schedule inspections, comply with building codes, and see the job through to the very end.

Project Management

We can manage your project from design to construction, collaborating with the owner, architect, and general contractor to ensure the project finishes on time and within budget. Our experience in the industry allows us to think outside the box, opening your mind to new and exciting features in your home.
