Welcome to Ripe Art and Framing, the ultimate destination for your artwork and memories. We specialize in enhancing the beauty and value of your artwork or memory by setting them in frames that complement and flatter. From traditional framing and matting to "rockstar" framing, we have got you covered.

At Ripe Art and Framing, we understand the importance of your artwork and memories. We take pride in our ability to make them look fabulous and cherished. Our dedicated team of experts, led by our new owner Scott "Danger" Reisher, is committed to providing you with the best possible framing solutions that will make your walls truly stand out.

We offer a huge selection of frames, from the traditional to the bizarre. Our inventory includes traditional and exotic wood frames, metal frames, and untraditional materials such as plastic, stone, and leather. All our work is hand done on premises, using archival, acid-free mounting materials, fasteners, mattings, and backings. We also do restoration work if the piece calls for it. Our framing lasts forever.

Our services extend beyond just framing your photographs and artwork. We believe that mementos and documents of special moments are just as important as your photographs and artwork. Highlight physical objects with a unique shadowbox, or preserve your heirloom documents for future generations in a protective, glass-fronted frame. We even frame mirrors - you name it, we frame it.

Our History

RIPE Art and Framing was established in the spring of 2004. It has been through a few incarnations, but at its core, Ripe is a full-service framing shop. Our clientele includes private and commercial clients, as well as top area interior decorators. We combine technical know-how with a huge selection of frames from vintage to contemporary, and the +15 years of experience to help clients decide on frames that highlight the beauty of the artwork or "objet de memoire."

RIPE has been an integral part of the arts scene on Long Island since its inception. Former owner Cherie Via has served as a gallerist to many of Long Island's emerging artists, and RIPE was a go-to stop for many involved in the burgeoning Long Island Alt Art scene. New owner Scott "Danger" Reisher continues Ripe's involvement in the local art scene.

Meet Scott the Rockstar

Scott "Danger" Reisher is the Owner and NEW Rockstar Picture Framer of RIPE Art and Framing. Scott cut his teeth on-stage and from inside mosh pits while fronting a countless number of metal and hardcore bands in the underground Long Island heavy music scene, but is a classically trained and multifaceted visual artist, designer, and Creative Problem Solver.

Originally from Roslyn Heights NY and a Long Islander through and through, he came into his own at Herricks High School and is an ALUM of their unparalleled multi-disciplinary arts program, STAC (Student Television Arts Company). He went on to attend The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore MD, and LIU at CW Post in Brookville NY with concentrations in Graphic Design and Printmaking.

Scott grew up surrounded by art and design; his mother was a brilliant textile designer and art director, and his father owned the full-service Mecca for photographers where Scott came of age behind a counter: Ken-Mar Camera in Great Neck (and later in Albertson) NY. Scott found custom framing by chance while working for Utrecht Art Supplies during their acquisition by Blick Art Materials in the 2010's. His first nickname from his first framing mentor was "The Sponge, " because he absorbed every tidbit of information so quickly, and in a short time became a true and trusted master of all things framing and art making.

A decade later, he struck out on his own to carry the torch and keep the spirit of RIPE alive, established in 2004 by the one and only Original Rockstar Framer, Cherie Via. Scott met Cherie at a mutual friend's solo show in the former RIPE art gallery space in Greenlawn (30+ pieces that Scott had framed), where they became fast friends and later confidants for a number of years since they spoke the same design language.

He is thrilled to continue cultivating new and long-standing relationships with featured artists and active collectors. Scott enjoys spending time with his lovely and incredible illustrator and jeweler fiancee, Amy. He also collects and uses high-end pocket knives and tools, is a purveyor of craft beer, loves Godzilla, Star Wars, and has an encyclopedic knowledge of everything else.

At Ripe Art and Framing, we believe in the power of art and design. We are committed to helping you make your walls truly fabulous and cherished. Schedule a visit today and let us show you how we can enhance the beauty and value of your artwork or memory.
