Canton Road Garden Center is a family-owned nursery, greenhouse, and gardening supply store that has been serving Akron growers since 1980. Our 12,000 square foot greenhouse and 3-acre nursery feature a wide variety of plants, flowers, trees, herbs, vegetable plants, and gardening supplies. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff are dedicated to helping you find everything you need to keep your garden thriving.

Our History

Our tradition starts way before 1980! John Kline was raised on his family farm in south Akron, where he learned about growing vegetables and fruit. He realized he had a knack for growing and went on to study lawns, fertilizers, trees, and shrubs. When John was in his mid-thirties, he built Canton Road Garden Center with his business partner, Bill. After twenty-five years, Bill retired, and John's family took over the business. Today, our nursery is filled with landscape plants, and our greenhouse is loaded with gorgeous, colorful flowers.

Our Team

Our team is led by John Kline, the founder of Canton Road Garden Center. John's vision has brought the garden center from its small start to the business it is today. His easy-going manner is loved by his employees as well as our customers. John can be found at the store very early in the morning with his cup of coffee, ready to start another good day! Our team also includes John "Tony" Kline, who is responsible for our 12,000 square foot greenhouse, Steve Kline, who runs our three-acre nursery, Mike Justice, who works in the nursery and answers lawn and garden questions, Adam Yakubik, who is our expert on fertilizers and insect control, and Jeannette Eberhardt, who handles everything on paper.
