Our Story

Amelia River Cruises was founded with the dream of creating an unforgettable experience for both locals and visitors to Fernandina Beach, Florida. Our team is passionate about the rich history, diverse wildlife, and natural beauty that our area has to offer. We believe that there's no better way to explore and appreciate these wonders than from the water.

Our journey began with a small fleet of boats and a dedicated crew, but over the years, we've grown to become the most popular historic cruise on Amelia Island. We've expanded our fleet to include several boats, each designed to cater to different types of experiences. Whether you're looking for a family-friendly wildlife tour, a romantic sunset cruise, or an interactive eco-trip, we have something for everyone.

Our Team

Our team consists of experienced captains, knowledgeable tour guides, and friendly staff who are all passionate about providing exceptional customer service. Our captains are legendary experts on local wildlife and history, and they take pride in sharing their knowledge with our guests. Our tour guides are trained to ensure that every guest has a memorable and enjoyable experience on board.

We're also proud to partner with local chefs, caterers, sommeliers, and brew masters to offer unique culinary experiences on some of our cruises. These partnerships allow us to showcase the best of Amelia Island's food and drink scene while providing an unforgettable experience for our guests.

Our Boats

Our fleet includes several boats, each designed to cater to different types of experiences. The Princess Amelia is our largest boat, perfect for large groups and family-friendly tours. The Bald Eagle is a bit smaller, ideal for more intimate experiences like our Tapas & Tasting Tours. The Gail Force II is our most versatile boat, capable of navigating shallow waters and ideal for our Shrimping Eco Tours. The Miss Kaylynn is our newest addition, offering a comfortable and stylish experience for our guests.

BYOB Musicians

At Amelia River Cruises, we believe that music is an essential part of any memorable experience. That's why we offer live music on many of our cruises, from local musicians who are passionate about their craft. Our BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage) policy allows you to enjoy your favorite drink while you're entertained by our talented musicians.

Cruises

At Amelia River Cruises, we offer a variety of cruises to cater to different interests and preferences. Whether you're looking for a family-friendly wildlife tour, a romantic sunset cruise, or an interactive eco-trip, we have something for everyone.

• Cumberland Island Tour: This 2.5-hour narrated history and wildlife sightseeing tour departs at 10 a.m., 7-days-a-week. See popular landmarks and hear fascinating tales while we try to spot playful dolphin and other wildlife.

• Cumberland Coastal Tour: Embark on a captivating 1.5 hour tour, offered daily at 2:00 p.m. Learn about Amelia Island's rich history, from tales of pirates to the eight flags declaring their sovereignty.

• Cumberland Sound Sunset Tour: Climb aboard our breathtaking Cumberland Sound Sunset Tour. This is our shortest, yet most picturesque cruise. Seasonally available, departure times change with the sunsets.

• Adult Twilight BYOB Cruise: This Adult Only BYOB Twilight Cruise is a magical party on the river on Friday and Saturday evenings, March through September. For two-hours enjoy live music, your favorite drink, a salty breeze in your hair, and dozens of new best friends!

• Tapas & Tasting Tours: This unforgettable Tapas and Tasting Tour is elevated beyond imagination with expertly curated pairings from one of our talented local chefs, caterers, cooks, sommeliers or brew masters.

• Shrimping Eco Tour: The Shrimping Eco Tour is back in June, offering a hands-on adventure for all ages. Join us in retrieving the otter trawl net to uncover treasures from the sea.
