Our History

The foundation of Brick By Brick Masonry was laid by Andrew Kirk, our owner, who began his journey in the masonry world in 1989 as a chimney sweep. Driven by a passion for this craft, Andrew immersed himself in the trade, completing an apprenticeship with two master masons over the next five years. This meticulous training instilled in him a deep understanding of traditional techniques and a commitment to quality workmanship. In 1995, Andrew established Brick By Brick Masonry, embarking on a successful career showcasing his talent and expertise in various projects, both residential and commercial.

His work extends beyond ordinary construction, encompassing the intricate restoration of historical churches and the creation of unique designs that have been featured in local publications. Notably, he participated in a project showcasing an old installation technique using clinker brick and stone, known as "Peanut Brittle, " featured in the Kirkland newspaper article "Jeff's Garage." This article highlights Andrew's mastery of traditional methods and his ability to breathe new life into architecture.
