Welcome to Sugarloaf Performing Arts, a family-oriented studio dedicated to providing excellent dance and tumble instruction to students of all skill levels. Our mission is to inspire young artists through professional arts education, and we strive to create a positive, encouraging, and safe environment where every student can achieve their fullest potential.
At Sugarloaf Performing Arts, we believe that dance is for everyone, and we have a class for everyone. Whether you're interested in elite ballet training, contemporary dance, or tumbling, we have a program that will meet your needs. Our experienced and dedicated artistic staff is committed to providing the highest quality training and individual attention to each student.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services designed to meet the needs of all our students. Here are some of the programs and classes we offer:
- Ballet: Our ballet program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in classical ballet technique. We offer classes for students of all skill levels, from beginning to pre-professional. Our elite ballet training program is designed to prepare students for a career in ballet or dance.
- Contemporary Dance: Our contemporary dance program is designed to provide students with a diverse and versatile dance education. We offer classes that explore different contemporary dance styles and techniques, including modern, jazz, and lyrical.
- Tumble: Our tumble program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in tumbling and acrobatics. We offer classes for students of all skill levels, from beginning to advanced. Our tumble instruction is taught by experienced and certified tumbling instructors.
- Company Programs: We offer company programs for students who want to take their dance education to the next level. Our dance companies provide students with the opportunity to perform on stage, work with professional choreographers, and compete in local and national dance competitions.
- Conservatory Program: Our conservatory program is designed for students who are committed to pursuing a career in dance. The program provides students with a comprehensive dance education, including technique, performance, and choreography.
Our Staff
Our staff is comprised of experienced and dedicated dance professionals who are passionate about sharing their love of dance with our students. Our artistic director, Lori Zamzow-Wire, has been passionate about dance since her early childhood. She received her early training and teaching experience from Florida Dance Theatre and went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis on dance performance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Lori has performed with several professional dance companies and has extensive teaching and choreography experience. She is the founding Artistic Director of the non-profit Sugarloaf Ballet company and purchased Sugarloaf Performing Arts in 2004.
Visit Our Studio
We invite you to visit our studio and take a tour of our facilities. Our new facility is conveniently located on Northbrook Parkway just off of I85 exit 109. We are in the big red brick building on the right just past Northbrook Middle School. We are proud of our reputation for providing excellent dance and tumble instruction, and we would love to have you as part of our dance family.
