Off Track Art Gallery

Off Track Art Gallery is a fine art and gift gallery located in the heart of Westminster, Maryland. Established in 2009, the gallery is owned and operated by local artists who are dedicated to promoting and advancing the arts in the community. The gallery is housed in the historic Liberty Building, located just off the corner of Main Street and Liberty Street (Route 27).

At Off Track Art Gallery, we offer a wide variety of art in many media for your home, gift-giving, and personal adornment. Our diverse collection includes works by local artists, as well as a selection of consignment pieces from artists across the country. Our gallery show, "Artful Whimsy, " will be on display in May and June, showcasing a variety of whimsical and imaginative works of art.

The Art of Amber Maurer Farran

Amber Maurer Farran is one of the many talented artists who display their work at Off Track Art Gallery. Amber's passion for local agriculture and its importance to American culture is evident in her artwork. Growing up at her father's butcher shop and living on her grandfather and uncle's dairy farm, Amber has a deep connection to the land and the animals that inhabit it.

In her artwork, Amber depicts the destruction of nature and agriculture and its importance to American culture. Her pieces focus on both Mother Nature and the local agriculturalist, highlighting the difficulties they face competing with corporate entities. The removal of the environment is represented by the omission of the background, with farm and forest animals rendered on a white abyss. Contrasting this removal of naturally occurring art, Amber's pieces focusing on agricultural skills and trades, specifically butchery, bring to light these disappearing artisans. Her catalog of endangered Americana serves as a reminder that what we have may not always be if it is cast aside.

Visiting Off Track Art Gallery

Off Track Art Gallery is open to the public Monday through Thursday by appointment, Friday from 12 to 4, Saturday from 10 to 4, and Sunday from 12 to 4. We invite you to stop by and see our gallery show, "Artful Whimsy, " on display in May and June. You can also browse our selection of art and gifts, or speak with one of our artists about their work.
