A Legacy Built on Quality and Service

Our story began in the aftermath of World War II as NASON Paint Store in Smithville, Missouri. In 1949, we moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, where we have maintained a strong presence ever since. Dan Sommerhauser joined the company in 1962 as a delivery driver, his dedication and vision eventually leading to the company purchasing 49% of AUTOBODY COLOR in 1977 and assuming full ownership in 1983. This marked a pivotal moment as the company expanded beyond paints and supplies, venturing into the distribution of high-quality body shop equipment.

Expanding Our Reach and Expertise

To better serve our growing customer base, we strategically opened our first branch in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1982. Since then, we've continued to expand our footprint, strategically establishing additional locations in St. Joseph, Jefferson City, and western Kansas. These branches serve as hubs for providing comprehensive product knowledge, specialized training, and dedicated customer service.
