Our Story
Founded by Steven Atlas in 1976, The Frame Maker began as a small frame shop in National City, and later moved to its current location in Mission Hills in 1999. Over the years, we have built strong relationships with skilled artisans, manufacturers, designers, and artists in San Diego, supporting the local art and design communities.

We offer a wide range of services, including custom framing, museum-quality shadowbox framing, framing to the trade, custom mirrors, art care, installation, and delivery. Our team of expert designers, led by Greg Strange, will work closely with you to understand your needs and create a unique framing solution that exceeds your expectations. Our Team
Our family-operated business is led by Samantha Atlas, who took over as owner and operator in 2018. Samantha is an active member of ASID, the American Society of Interior Designers, and is committed to continuing the family legacy of providing exceptional service and dedication to the art and design communities in San Diego. Our team also includes Jason Sherry, our lead art preparator and custom picture framer, and Jenna Refuerzo, a talented painter and custom picture framer.
