Our Journey

Inspired by the aftermath of the devastating 1966 Belmond tornado, a group of local visionaries recognized the need for dedicated housing options for seniors. Their tireless efforts culminated in the establishment of McBurney Apartments in 1971, marking the first step in what would become Belmond Community Apartments. Over the years, through the development of Buseman, Rise, Redder-McLaughlin apartments, and the expansion of the Leinbach Center, our community has evolved into a landmark of senior living in the region.
