Dance with passion, inspire with excellence.

DanceWorks Performing Arts Center, established in 1984 by Owner/Visionary Ann Proudfoot, has been a beacon of quality dance instruction in the metro area for over four decades. Hundreds of students have graced our stage, benefiting from the passion and dedication of our esteemed faculty, consistently pushing DanceWorks to the forefront of dance studios. We are incredibly proud to be recognized as a 2023 ADCC Studio of Excellence Winner and awarded Masquerade Nationals "Top Studio of the Year" for 2023.

DanceWorks offers a welcoming environment for dancers of all levels, whether seeking a casual weekly dance class for fitness and enjoyment or aspirations to cultivate a more serious dance career. Our classes cater to a wide range of ages, beginning as early as three years old and extending to adult dancers. We believe in creating a personalized experience for each student and family, recognizing that their individual journey with dance is unique and valuable.

Our Instruction

The cornerstone of DanceWorks' success lies in our exceptional team of instructors. Comprised of both in-house and visiting professionals, our faculty are award-winning artists who are deeply committed to fostering personal growth and technical excellence in every student. We believe dance is more than just physical movement; it's an art form that cultivates confidence, self-esteem, and a profound understanding of oneself. Our instructors work tirelessly to empower each student to reach their highest potential, guiding them with patience, expertise, and unwavering encouragement.

Program Offerings

DanceWorks provides a comprehensive program encompassing various dance disciplines to meet the diverse needs and aspirations of our students.

Competition Lines

Our competitive dance lines offer a rigorous and demanding path for dancers who are passionate about pushing their boundaries and striving for excellence. These lines intensively explore jazz, tap, and lyrical dance, supplemented by a weekly ballet requirement. Competitive dancers also have the opportunity to branch out into contemporary, kick, musical theater, and hip hop. Pointe and tumbling classes are also available to enhance their technical capabilities. The audition process for these lines includes a week-long intensive dance workshop in July, interwoven with team-building activities, fostering camaraderie and a sense of unity amongst aspiring dancers.

Post Dance Team

Understanding the unique needs of high school dance team members, we offer two specialized programs to ensure their continued growth and development during the off-season. "Technique Tuesday" provides a focused ten-week program, reinforcing jazz and kick technique in a supportive environment. "DanceWorks Lab, " a competitive dance team open to all high school dancers, welcomes participants without an audition requirement. This team emphasizes both technique refinement and choreography, culminating in a showcase recital.

Recreation and Adult Classes

For those seeking a more relaxed yet enriching dance experience, we offer a variety of recreation and adult dance classes. These classes provide a fun and social environment where individuals of all ages and skill levels can explore different dance styles, improve their fitness, and enjoy the joy of movement.
