Our story began in 1965 when George and Shirlee Whitson took a leap of faith to start a private commercial real estate development company. With a vision to identify and develop viable sites for retail and other commercial uses along highways throughout the Midwest, we have grown into a reputable company with a diverse portfolio of properties.

Our History

Our founders, George and Shirlee Whitson, drew inspiration from George's experience as Real Estate Manager with Marathon Oil Company, where he spent six years identifying and purchasing viable sites for retail Marathon gas stations along highways throughout the Midwest. Recognizing the need for a commercial network to support the growing number of travelers, George and Shirlee embarked on a journey to develop land along the Interstate 75 corridor, from Toledo, Ohio, to Florence, Kentucky. Over the years, we have built, owned, and managed shopping plazas, hotels, restaurants, retail stores, and gas stations, demonstrating our flexibility and financial capability to get involved in projects in various ways, whether it be a direct sale, a build-to-suit lease, or a partnership.
