Florida Safety Council

The Florida Safety Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safety and reducing preventable injuries and fatalities. Founded in 1953, the Council has a long history of providing safety training and education to individuals, businesses, and communities throughout Central Florida. Our mission is to reduce preventable injuries and save lives through highly effective safety and health training, professional testing, and monitoring.

Our Story

We were established by concerned citizens who were committed to making the roads safer. Initially, our organization focused on addressing traffic safety, but over the years, we have expanded our scope to promote safety in every phase of life - in the home, on the road, in schools, businesses, industrial facilities, and government.

Today, we are a premier safety training agency with classrooms and driving ranges throughout Central Florida, 20 driver education vehicles, and entire departments devoted to workplace safety and behavioral modification programs. We are proud to have more than 100 instructors who are dedicated to providing high-quality safety training and education.

Our Services

Driver Improvement Programs

• Promoting traffic safety is the cornerstone of our education and training initiatives.
• Our driver improvement programs are designed to encourage safe and courteous driving habits by enhancing defensive driving abilities and awareness.
• We offer a variety of driver improvement programs for individuals, commercial drivers, truck drivers, and mature drivers.
• Our programs include one-on-one driving lessons, high school driver education programs, and the Traffic Law Substance Abuse Education (T.L.S.A.E.) course required for all first-time drivers in Florida.

DUI and Substance Abuse Programs

• Our DUI programs are designed to change the behavior of offenders and reduce the risk of future DUI-related arrests, injuries, and deaths.
• Our state-certified evaluators and instructors work with each client to understand the issues and factors related to risk reduction.
• We offer DUI programs licensed by the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) for Brevard, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties.

Workplace Safety Training

• We offer a wide range of safety training programs for workplaces, including occupational safety training, driver improvement programs, and behavioral modification programs.
• Our trainers and instructors are experienced in providing safety training and education to employees at all levels.
• Our workplace safety training programs cover a range of topics, including fall protection, personal protective equipment, and hazard assessment.

Pretrial Diversion

• We offer pretrial diversion programs to help individuals who have been arrested for DUI-related offenses.
• Our pretrial diversion programs work in conjunction with the courts to provide education and support services to help individuals change their behavior and reduce the risk of future DUI-related offenses.

Community Involvement

• We are committed to giving back to the community and promoting safety and well-being through various community programs.
• Our community programs include golf tournaments, charity runs, and educational events.
• We work closely with local organizations and businesses to promote safety and reduce the risk of injuries and fatalities.
