Red River Dance Theatre

Red River Dance Theatre Company is a non-profit organization based in Central Louisiana, dedicated to promoting and developing classical ballet for youth. We provide supplemental dance training for area dancers twice a month, offering them the opportunity to perform for our community and schools several times a year. Our dancers can be seen gracing the stages of events such as Alex Winter Fete, Juneteenth, Art Walk, Junior League of Alexandria's A Very Merry Market, and Rapides Parish's Summer School enrichment activities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide family entertainment, train interested young dancers, and enrich arts education in local schools. We are the only non-profit organization in Central Louisiana that is solely focused on developing and promoting classical ballet for youth.

Sold Out Shows and Proud Parents

Our annual production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, held the weekend after Thanksgiving every year, has become a beloved tradition and a sell-out show. In addition to this, we perform a smaller ballet every spring, featuring performances such as Peter and the Wolf, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, and Hansel and Gretel.

What You Can Expect

Apart from our regular performances, we also offer Pre-Company technique classes for dancers not yet eligible for Company membership, aged between 6-9 years. These classes focus on developing basic techniques of classical ballet and strengthening their abilities in ballet in their home studios. They also prepare them for future auditions and placement and give them a sneak peek into Company membership.

Community Support

Ticket revenue and tuition cover nearly half of our expenses, and we rely on the support of our community to keep classical ballet flourishing in Central Louisiana. Every donation we receive provides our dancers with the opportunity to learn technique, stage presence, make new costumes, and set pieces, creating an unforgettable experience for both the audience and the dancers.
