Our Story

Chetco Brewing Company was born from a passion for craft beer and a desire to share that passion with the Brookings community. Our journey began with a humble home brewing set, a gift from my wife that sparked a creative fire. As I delved deeper into the craft, I quickly realized that brewing wasn't just about following a recipe; it was about experimenting, exploring new flavors, and pushing the boundaries of what beer could be. Sharing a taste with friends and family, witnessing their enjoyment, fueled my ambition to open a brewery.

For years, I honed my skills, crafting innovative brews using local ingredients whenever possible. The vision of Chetco Brewing Company took shape as a place where people could gather, savor exceptional handcrafted beers, and experience the warmth and hospitality of a small-town brewery. However, life often throws curveballs. Personal tragedies and unexpected circumstances sidelined our plans, forcing us to refocus our priorities. We faced financial challenges, personal strains, and the uncertainties that come with life's hurdles.

Through it all, the dream of Chetco Brewing Company persisted, steadily growing stronger with each passing day. Equipped with invaluable life lessons and a renewed sense of purpose, we finally took the leap in late 2011, officially registering our company and embarking on the path to realizing our vision.

Our Commitment to Quality

At Chetco Brewing Company, quality is paramount. We believe that every aspect of the brewing process, from choosing the finest ingredients to meticulously monitoring fermentation, directly influences the final product. We use no additives, extracts, or artificial anything in our beers.

When we clarify our beer, we utilize Irish moss, a natural clarifying agent. While we are not certified organic, all the hops, fruits, and herbs that we cultivate on our property and incorporate into our beers are grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or any other unconventional or harmful substances. We are dedicated to crafting beers that are not only delicious but also wholesome and true to the spirit of craft brewing.
