Disappointment and Disorganization
Merritt Academy has received mixed reviews, with some parents expressing disappointment and frustration with the school's administration and teachers. One parent, Satt Park, reported a poor experience, stating that the school took their application fee despite the application being incomplete. The school's handling of the situation was described as "absurd excuses" and a "big waste of time and money."
Positive Experiences
On the other hand, many parents have had positive experiences at Merritt Academy. Christopher Sterbling and Zita Rostas both gave the school a 5-star rating, praising the school's handling of pandemic issues and its top-rate team. Zita Rostas also highlighted the school's exceptional teachers, sense of community, and ability to foster a child's growth academically and socially.
Concerns about Teacher Behavior
However, there have been concerns raised about the behavior of some teachers at the school. Thomas Fortuna reported that his 18-month-old daughter's teacher dislocated her elbow during a disciplinary action, an incident that was investigated by the Department of Social Services and resulted in multiple violations against the school. Claire Da also described the school's administration as having "shallow personalities" and "poor values."
Love and Care
Emily S. and Joanna Cleary, on the other hand, have had overwhelmingly positive experiences at Merritt Academy. Emily S. praised the school's loving and enriching environment, as well as its flexibility in accommodating working families. Joanna Cleary highlighted her child's love of playing outside, learning French, and participating in art activities, as well as his teachers' excellence.
