Sewing Hope

Sewing Hope is a ministry of Immanuel Chapel, dedicated to teaching others with love and hope through sewing. We serve our local community and other nations by providing pattern making, garment construction, and alterations training to individuals who are economically challenged or facing emotional, physical, or mental challenges. We also offer our services to anyone who is interested in learning a practical skill and improving their quality of life.

We are committed to increasing the standard of living of our students by providing them with work-at-home opportunities and outreach sewing missions, both foreign and domestic. We believe that learning a practical skill like sewing can lead to improved self-esteem, confidence, and English language development. Our students come from any race, color, or national ethnic origin, and we are proud to provide them with a friendly and professional learning environment.

Our Services

We offer a comprehensive sewing program that covers pattern making, garment construction, and alterations. Our students are taught how to make a pattern that fits and how to do fashion design. We provide written manuals in Spanish, Vietnamese, and English, which can also be used as tools for teaching English as a second language. Our program is designed to teach students a practical skill that they can use to improve their lives and the lives of others.

We work with economically, emotionally, physically, and mentally challenged individuals to give them hope through sewing. We believe that increasing their confidence through sewing can lead to a better quality of life and a sense of purpose. We offer our services to anyone who is interested in learning how to sew, regardless of their background or experience level.

Our Partners

We would like to extend a special thank you to Crooked Brook, a full-service apparel design, pattern making, sample making, private-label small lot production, direct-to-garment printing, and embroidery studio. They recently donated fabric to Sewing Hope, which has helped us to continue providing our services to our students. Since 1989, Crooked Brook has built a strong reputation of providing top-notch apparel designs, patterns, fit and production samples for many brand name catalogs and retailers, as well as wardrobe and costumes for movies, television, and theater.

Our Mission

Our prayer is that we can equip those in need with the knowledge and skills that would be pleasing to God. We believe that restoring dignity, sense of purpose, and hope as they learn new skills and grow will enable them to become givers, not just receivers. We believe that God's love for them is the motivation for our actions, and our ultimate goal is that all men will be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
