At Bumi Design, we are dedicated to creating beautiful, functional spaces that complement the existing architecture of your home. Our name, Bumi, is an Indonesian word meaning "native" or "of the earth, " which reflects our design philosophy of creating additions and remodels that do not look or feel foreign to the existing home. Instead, we strive to blend modern functionality with the existing good bones of a home, ensuring a seamless transition between old and new.

Our team, led by Alicia Meza, a graduate of the University of Washington's Architecture school, has extensive experience in designing and constructing a wide range of projects, from kitchens and bathrooms to house lifts, additions, and new construction. With over 40 projects completed since our inception in 2009, we have developed a good working relationship with the Seattle building department and are on the preferred applicant list as a CPA (Consistently Prepared Applicant). This means we can get projects in the queue for reviews earlier than the general population, saving you time and hassle.

Our services include a variety of residential design projects, ranging in scale from 200 to 3,000 square feet. Some of our recent projects include a full house renovation in Ballard, a kitchen and basement remodel in Wallingford, a condo remodel in Downtown Ballard, and a master suite renovation in Wallingford. We have also completed a kitchen remodel in West Seattle, a master bathroom renovation in Bryant, and a mid-century remodel in Ballard.
