Putting Children First, Nurturing the Whole Child

Welcome to Norfield Children's Center, a non-profit organization committed to providing the highest quality of early childhood education. Our mission is to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children aged 2 through 12 years of age. We believe that every child is unique and capable of greatness and strive to support their growth and discovery at their own pace.

At Norfield Children's Center, we are dedicated to providing a play-based teaching model that allows children to learn and explore through interactive play stations. Our experienced and caring teachers work hard to create a safe and fun environment where children are encouraged to make choices, solve problems, and develop their independence and social skills. We understand the importance of early learning experiences and strive to provide a curriculum that promotes this development.

Our Approach

Our approach is guided by the belief that children learn best through play. We offer a stimulating environment that encourages exploration and discovery, allowing children to develop their social and emotional skills in a supportive and fun atmosphere. Our classrooms are set up in sections specific to the age of the group, and teachers incorporate academic skills through weekly theme-based activities.

We emphasize the process of learning and aim to create an atmosphere of exploration and discovery for our students. Students' progress is monitored through daily hands-on activities and observational assessments. We offer special activities for our students, including music and yoga classes, as well as walking trips to the Weston Public Library. Our Four's preschool program also works closely with Weston Public Schools, incorporating a "move up day" at the end of the year where students ride a bus to the elementary school and are greeted by the kindergarten teachers and staff.

At Norfield Children's Center, we strive to provide a community-centered atmosphere. We are guided by volunteers on our Board of Directors, and we encourage parents to play an active role in their child's education. We offer several social activities for parents during the school year, including Parent's Coffee Mornings and Parent's Night Out. Our location in the heart of Weston, CT, with very close proximity to the Weston Public School campus, creates a strong sense of community.
