Pat's 30 Acres

Our Story

Pat's 30 Acres was born from the bonds of camaraderie forged after World War II. Returning veterans, primarily from the local Labor, Carpenter, Electrical, Construction, and Plumber Unions, found solace and friendship at Pat's Tavern in Belmar. A Newark native named Pat Joyce, the tavern's owner, welcomed them like family. Every Saturday night, the veterans, joined by their wives, would gather for a feast of steak and lobster while the men enjoyed the company of each other, card games, and dreams of a dedicated space for their shared passions. A call to adventure went out, one vet volunteered to seek a suitable place to build a clubhouse where they could pursue their combined interests.

Their search led them to a quiet piece of land on West Hurley Pond Road in Wall Township. A retired gentlemen residing there saw the potential in their aspiration and sold them the land, giving birth to Pat's 30 Acres.
