Our story begins with Don and MaryAnn Tharp, who in 1982 opened Kristy Kone, a humble ice cream shop in the quiet suburb of Melbourne. With a welcoming smile and a knack for creating delicious treats, the Tharps quickly earned the love of the community. Over the years, their son Steve and Michelle Hill (later Tharp) joined the business, and with their combined efforts, Twisty Cone Ice Cream & Cakes grew into the beloved local institution it is today.
