At Bud's Powersports, we have a long history that dates back to the early 1960s. Our journey began with Bud Poxleitner, who started his working life at Charlie's Saw Shop in St. Maries, Idaho. Bud gained valuable experience and knowledge at Charlie's, which later proved to be essential in his future endeavors.

Bud's career path took a different turn when he became a log saw man, a profession that offered better pay but also came with a higher risk of injury. Unfortunately, Bud was hit by a snag, which left him paralyzed for life. This unfortunate event led Bud back home to Cottonwood, Idaho, where he decided to start his own business.

In 1970, Bud opened Bud's Saw Service in a leased space on Main Street in Cottonwood, where his brother Errol had previously worked in a service station. Over time, Bud expanded his business by adding Scorpion Snowmobiles to his product line. However, in 1981, Scorpion Snowmobiles was bought out by Arctic Cat. This did not deter Bud, and in 1985, he added Polaris ATV's to his product line.

In 1989, Bud's brother Errol Poxleitner took over the business. Under Errol's leadership, the business continued to grow and expand. In 1996, Errol hired Todd Stenzel as a mechanic and later as a salesman for the snowmobile and ATV division. Todd's hard work and dedication contributed significantly to the growth of the business.

In 2006, John and Koleen Law, the current owners of Bud's Powersports, purchased the business from Errol Poxleitner. John and Koleen have continued the legacy of Bud's Powersports, offering top-quality service and products to the community.

Today, Bud's Powersports is a thriving powersports dealer in Cottonwood, Idaho, serving the surrounding communities of Grangeville, White Bird, Riggins, Craigmont, Kamiah, Orofino, Nez Perce, and Lewiston. We offer a wide range of products and services, including all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), side-by-side utility vehicles (UTVs), and snowmobiles from Polaris and Can-Am, as well as Stihl chainsaws and other power tools.
