At Valley Milling & Lumber, LLC, we have been a leading provider of wood products and services for over 70 years. Founded in 1948, our company has evolved from a small, family-owned business to a modern, state-of-the-art facility, dedicated to providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service.

Our story began when Jim Youel and Gail Louden, two native Oregonians, attended the University of Oregon in the 1970s and went on to pursue careers in accounting. In 1993, they joined forces to form Valley Milling & Lumber, bringing their extensive experience in wood products company accounting, finance, and management. Under their guidance, our company has grown to become a trusted partner for the construction, agricultural, and packaging industries.

Our Services

At Valley Milling & Lumber, we take pride in offering a wide range of services to meet the unique needs of our customers. From surfacing and patterns to resawing and trimsawing, our team of experts is dedicated to providing exceptional quality and customer service.

Surfacing and Patterns

We offer a variety of surfacing services, including simple sizing, S4S, S4SEE, T&G patterns for ceiling, interior wall coverings, flooring, and siding. Our experienced team can also sort for grade and length, and sticker products for air-drying.

Resawing

Our state-of-the-art resawing facilities feature three single-band vertical resaws, with the capability to make multiple pulls off the chain. We also have a thin kerf multi-blade horizontal resaw for fine cutting orders. Our bandsaws are sharpened and bench-tested in-house to ensure the highest quality resawing.

Trimsawing

We can PET and trim for grade, providing a separate operation to improve the grade of the final product. Our air/electric chop stations and trimmers work together to carefully trim to your specifications in odd and even lengths.

Other Services

In addition to our surfacing, resawing, and trimsawing services, we also offer sort and restacking, sticker for air drying, custom packaging, and more. Our experienced team is dedicated to providing exceptional service and support to meet the unique needs of our customers.

Equipment and Facilities

Our modern production facilities are equipped with the latest technology, including a planer with a capacity up to 8" x 24" and up to 26' long, moulders with a capacity of up to 4" x 12" and up to 60' lengths for pattern and fine finishing, and resaws with a capacity of up to 14" x 22" x 24'. Our on-site Knife and saw shop allows us to grind our own pattern knives and custom design practically any pattern that will fit our machines for profiling.
