Providing access to justice for all, one case at a time
Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii (VLSH) is a non-profit legal service organization that has been providing legal assistance to Hawaii's low-moderate income community since 1981. Our mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has access to quality legal services. We are committed to empowering individuals to resolve their legal issues through education, legal advice clinics, brief services, and referrals to pro bono attorneys for direct representation.
Our organization is made up of a dedicated staff and volunteers, including volunteer attorneys who are the backbone of the organization. Without their support and commitment, access to justice would not be possible in Hawaii. At VLSH, we understand that not everyone can afford an attorney, but may be able to help themselves resolve legal issues if they are given the right information, professional support, and assistance. That's why we provide services designed to help people handle legal problems on their own.
VLSH partners with volunteer attorneys to provide quality legal services to those who qualify based on income and legal issue. Last year, Volunteer Attorneys donated legal services valued at over $800,000, demonstrating their commitment to providing access to justice for all.
