East Coast Driving School is a DMV approved driving school that has been serving the greater Wilmington area for the past 14 years. Our primary goal is to provide new drivers with the skills and knowledge they need to become safe, defensive, and courteous drivers. Our curriculum is approved by the North Carolina DMV, ensuring that our students receive the highest quality education.
We offer a range of courses for new drivers, both teen and adult. Our experienced and certified instructors use state-of-the-art teaching methods to make learning enjoyable, enlightening, and successful. We provide students with the tools they need to get behind the wheel and feel confident and secure.
Our classes are designed to accommodate up to 30 students, and our instructors adhere to a state-approved course curriculum. We monitor students' progress and provide additional instruction when necessary. Our instructors are committed to managing expectations, answering questions, and mentoring students on best and safest driving practices.
We take pride in maintaining a supportive environment for all students and staying up-to-date with the state's driving laws, rules, and regulations. Our instructors are passionate about empowering and coaching students to excel in the classroom and behind the wheel.
Careers at East Coast Driving School
After 14 years in business, East Coast Driving School is seeing a major need to expand. To do so, we need more qualified instructors to join our team. We are looking for licensed driving instructors, those in possession of a 90-day probationary driving instructor permit, or those currently attending an 80-hour course to work toward this goal.
As an instructor for East Coast Driving School, you will be expected to:
- Adhere to a state-approved course curriculum
- Prepare and coach students on necessary skills for a safe driving career
- Monitor students' progress and provide additional instruction when necessary
- Guide class discussions, answering questions related to driving concepts, rules, and laws
- Mentor students on best and safest driving practices
- Stay up-to-date on the state's driving laws, rules, and regulations
- Discuss and indicate where to find testing material
- Oversee classroom resting and maintain a supportive environment for all students
- Provide availability for at least one month in advance
- Arrive at work on time
- Work at least two Saturdays (or Sundays) each month
- Work most Federal holidays, excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas Days
