Our History
Our story began when Al Martin was just nine years old, helping his older brother's friend rebuild the engine on his grandmother's '63 Chevy Nova. From that moment on, Al was hooked. He couldn't get enough of the automotive industry and has been taking classes ever since. Over the years, Al has seen the industry evolve and change, but his commitment to learning and staying up-to-date on the latest technologies has never wavered.
In 1985, Al and his wife Colleen decided to open their own shop, Martin's Automotive Center. Their goal was simple: to provide top-quality, honest automotive repair to the people of Mt. Vernon, IL. Since then, we have built a solid reputation for our fine workmanship and dedication to our customers.
