At Merrimack Hall, we believe that every individual has special needs. Some needs may be visible on the outside, while others may be hidden inside. Our mission is to provide visual and performing arts education and cultural activities to children and adults with special needs. Our programs are designed to provide a safe and inclusive environment where our participants can express themselves creatively and explore their unique talents.

Our History

Merrimack Hall was founded in 2008 with a single weekly dance class for 10 children with special needs. Over the years, we have grown to offer 23 arts-related classes that serve hundreds of individuals with special needs from Huntsville, Madison County, and across North Alabama. Our programs have been designed to enrich the social and creative needs of all who participate.

Our Services

We offer a range of services designed to promote inclusion and self-expression. Our programs include:

  • Arts Classes: Multi-disciplinary arts education classes for children and adults with special needs. Classes include dance & creative movement, acting, choir, and many more!
  • Adult Day Program: A cultural and socially engaging program for adults with special needs, hosted on weekdays, Monday - Thursday.
  • Summer Camps: A series of week-long summer camps in multidisciplinary arts education, where students spend half a day learning and growing creatively.
  • Perennial Concerts and Performances: A chance for participants to showcase their talents in front of a live audience, with professional sound, lighting, and costumes.
