Empowering Students to Reach New Heights

The Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) at Troy High School is a federally-sponsored program that aims to provide students with the tools and skills necessary to become future leaders. As part of the NJROTC, students engage in various activities that promote leadership, discipline, and attention to detail. These skills are essential for personal growth as well as for success in the workforce. Moreover, the NJROTC program is committed to fostering a sense of community and service, providing cadets with numerous opportunities to give back to the school and the wider community.

The NJROTC program at Troy High School has a rich history of accomplishments. In 2009, it was ranked the best Navy JROTC program in the nation, out of over 600 programs, and in 2022, it was ranked the second-best program in the nation. Additionally, the program has received the Distinguished Unit Award for 23 consecutive years, and it is the only Honor NJROTC program in the nation. The program boasts over 300 cadets, making it one of the largest NJROTC programs in the country. On average, the program recruits over a hundred freshmen each year, offering them a wealth of opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Benefits of NJROTC Membership

Membership in the NJROTC program at Troy High School offers numerous benefits. Cadets have access to a wide range of competitive teams, including orienteering, marksmanship, Information Security (InSecT), SeaPerch, SPEAR / RoboSub, drones, JLAB, and College Options. These teams not only provide cadets with opportunities to learn new skills and build camaraderie, but they also offer a platform for cadets to showcase their talents and leadership abilities in local, regional, and national competitions.

In addition to team opportunities, the program offers numerous community service events throughout the year. These events provide cadets with a chance to give back to the community and to develop a sense of civic responsibility. The program also hosts a variety of social events, including the Annual Military Ball, which serves as a platform for cadets to develop their social skills and to build relationships with their peers.

Getting Involved

NJROTC membership is open to ALL Troy High School students. To join or obtain recruitment information, cadets can visit the NJROTC classroom, located in room 402. The classroom telephone number is 714-626-4554. The Troy High School fax number is 714-626-4492. The program encourages all students to consider NJROTC membership as a way to develop their leadership potential and to build a strong foundation for success.

How to Support the Troy NJROTC Program

The Troy NJROTC program relies on the support of the community to continue providing cadets with the best possible experiences. Donations are gratefully accepted and can be made payable to Troy NJROTC Booster Club and mailed to 2200 East Dorothy Lane, Fullerton CA 92831. Checks can also be brought to room 402, or donations can be made online via Zelle (troynjrotcbooster@gmail), or through the NJROTC Booster Club website.

In addition to financial support, the program also welcomes volunteers. Prospective volunteers can fill out the Volunteer Clearance Form, which is available on the NJROTC Booster Club website. Volunteer opportunities include coaching teams, chaperoning events, and providing administrative support.
