University City Swim Club

The University City Swim Club is an oasis of recreation, social activity, and fun in the heart of West Philadelphia. Established in 1964, UCSC has a rich history of diversity and community engagement. Our club is a non-profit private organization that strives to provide a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming environment for all members.

Our Facilities

UCSC boasts a range of facilities designed to cater to the needs of our diverse membership. Our facilities include:

• Three guarded pools: a leisure pool, a 25-yard lap pool with four lanes, and a dive well with a 1-meter board.
• A tot pool with a spray feature and climbing structure, perfect for our youngest members.
• Lounge chairs in sun or shade, providing ample space for relaxation and socialization.
• A half-court basketball court, offering a fun and active alternative to swimming.
• A dining area with barbecue grills, encouraging members to bring their own picnics and enjoy meals together.
• Outdoor showers, handicapped/gender-neutral bathrooms, and changing rooms with lockers, toilets, and showers.

Membership

Our membership is capped at 450 families, ensuring that our club remains intimate and community-oriented. We currently have a waiting list, but memberships not used in a season are available for rental by families on the Wait List. Our rental fee is currently $395, in addition to annual dues.

Our membership rates are designed to be affordable and accessible to all. We offer a range of membership options, from individual to family memberships, and we pride ourselves on our transparent financial terms and conditions.

Swim Lessons and Safety

At UCSC, we prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all members, especially our youngest swimmers. We offer a range of swim lessons for children of all ages and abilities, taught by certified instructors who prioritize water safety and confidence.

Our pool is always guarded by trained lifeguards, and we have strict pool rules in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members.

Calendar of Events

Our calendar is packed with events designed to bring our community together and provide opportunities for fun, relaxation, and socialization. From family-friendly movie nights to adult-only happy hours, there's something for everyone at UCSC.

UCSC has a proud history of diversity and community engagement. We are governed by a volunteer board and our bylaws, and our operations are managed and staffed by a professional pool management company.
