At McCall-Thomas Engineering Company, Inc., we are dedicated to providing quality engineering and technical services. Our history dates back to 1945, when our founders Arthur E. McCall and Henry C. Thomas envisioned a company built on character, service, and value. We have upheld these core traits for over 77 years and continue to innovate and adapt to the technological needs of today.

Our Services

We offer a diverse range of services across multiple divisions, including Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electric Utility Service, Field Operations & UAS, and Print Services. Each division is dedicated to providing innovative and effective solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients.

Our Communication Engineering Division specializes in designing, staking, and inspecting fiber-optic network infrastructure. We have worked on thousands of miles of fiber-optic networks in the southeast and provide network solutions tailored to our clients' specific requirements.

The Electrical Engineering Division focuses on power distribution and utilization, offering services to electric cooperatives, municipal electric systems, commercial, industrial, and governmental concerns. We have established long-term relationships with many of our clients and take pride in the fact that we are still serving our first client.

The Electric Utility Service Division offers both onsite and offsite services for electric utility needs. Our team is equipped to handle a wide range of projects, from routine maintenance to complex system upgrades.

Our Field Operations & UAS Division provides drone imagery and other field operation services, utilizing cutting-edge technology to deliver high-quality results.

Lastly, our Print Services Division can copy or print sizes up to 36 inches wide and any length, offering a convenient solution for printing needs.

Our History

McCall-Thomas Engineering began as a partnership in 1945 and was incorporated in 1947. Initially based in Charleston, SC, we relocated to Orangeburg, SC just before our third year of operation. Our first clients were electric cooperatives financed by the Rural Electrification Administration. Over the years, we have expanded our services to include municipal electric systems, commercial, industrial, and governmental concerns.

The Communications Engineering Division was established in 1952 during the early days of the Rural Electrification Administration's telephone program. By 1960, we were providing engineering services to twenty-two cooperatives and independent telephone companies in three states. Today, we have greatly expanded the number and type of projects, as well as the variety and complexity of services available.
