Our Story

At The Book Lady Bookstore, we are dedicated to the love of reading and literature. Begun in 1978 by the inimitable Anita Raskin, our store has been a staple in the Savannah community for over 40 years. Under the guidance of Joni Saxon-Giusti, who worked with Mrs. Raskin for many years, we continue to expand the city's rich literary legacy.

With an extensive collection of over 40 genres of both fiction and nonfiction, hardbacks and paperbacks, our shelves are stocked with an impressive range of titles. From Georgia and Southern history to art and architecture, literary biography and memoir, classics, women's studies, military history, foreign places and travel, small press, essays, philosophy, African-American, children's, cooking, music, graphic novels, science and nature, we have a book for every interest.
