At Garden Street School of the Performing Arts, we believe in the importance of the arts, not just for those who want to be professional actors, dancers, or musicians, but for everyone. The ability to express emotions through music, dance, literature, and art is a gift that you keep forever, and to learn this at a young age can inspire a person for life.
Our Mission
As a child who didn't naturally fit in with the elementary school dynamics, I found myself searching for a place to be myself. It wasn't until my mother enrolled me in Ballet class that I found where I belonged. Soon after, I was so enthralled by dance and the beautiful music played in class, I asked to go to the local dance studio every day. I studied and trained classically, and pursued all styles of dance including tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, lyrical, and acro. Then I began piano and voice lessons, and couldn't decide between focusing on musical theatre or dance. I wanted to do it all.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services at Garden Street School of the Performing Arts, including music lessons, dance lessons, and theater classes. Our music lessons include piano, guitar, violin, and voice, while our dance lessons cover ballet, jazz, hip hop, Irish step, lyrical/contemporary, tap, and Bollywood. Our theater classes offer exciting plans for our musical theater program, and we also have recording studio facilities for our students.
About Our Founder
I, Miss Annie, am the founder of Garden Street School of the Performing Arts. I have been fortunate enough to be part of a community that understands the importance of an education in the arts. I have been so grateful to work with music and dance artists who share our vision, and I am proud to offer a platform for young artists to express themselves.
Our Location
We are located at 1018 Washington Street, right in the heart of Hoboken, NJ, and minutes from midtown Manhattan. Our Dance & Theater Classes are on the 2nd Floor, while our Music Lessons & Recording Studio are on the Lower Level.
