Powers Clothing, established in 1890, is a trusted name in the clothing industry, offering name brands and outstanding customer service for over a century. With humble beginnings as a men's and boys clothing store, Powers Clothing has grown and evolved over the years, serving the Jonesville community through two World Wars and a Great Depression.

The store's journey began when David L. Powers arrived in Jonesville with a vision to serve the local community. The business was initially called D.L. Powers & Son, a father-and-son operation that weathered the challenges of the early 20th century. Monty Powers brought a new era of innovation to the store after serving in World War II, leading to a complete renovation of the interior and exterior, introducing air conditioning and carpeting, and maintaining its commitment to serving the working men of the Jonesville area.

The family business continued to grow, as Monty's brother-in-law Ray Pope and his son David joined the team in the 1960s. Monty's son Paul also joined the store, eventually leading to David and Paul taking over the family business. Today, David's children Jim Pope and Marcy Boone, along with Marcy's daughter Sara Sauber, continue to uphold the family legacy.
