At Finger Lakes Driving School, our goal is to help people of the Finger Lakes Region become better, safer drivers through education and training. Our school is dedicated to providing a supportive and informative learning environment, equipped with a modern and comfortable vehicle. Our experienced instructor, Dave Colella, holds a Master of Science degree from the State University of New York at Oswego, with a focus on Safety Education and Driver Training. With over 14 years of experience in teaching first-time student drivers, Dave prioritizes safety and emphasizes the importance of responsible driving habits.

Our Services

At Finger Lakes Driving School, we offer a range of services designed to help students of all ages and skill levels improve their driving skills. Our services include:

Driving Lessons

We offer private driving lessons, including individual highway lessons and road test practice. Classes are 55 minutes long, and we offer flexible scheduling to fit your needs.

Driving Courses

We offer a variety of driving courses, including:

  • 5 Hour Pre-Licensing Course: A state-required course for anyone applying for a drivers license age 16 and up. This course is designed to educate students about the dangers and responsibilities of driving.

5 Hour Course Overview

Our 5 Hour Course is a New York State Department of Motor Vehicle required course for anyone applying for a drivers license. This comprehensive course covers topics such as:

  • Road rules and signs
  • Traffic laws and regulations
  • Defensive driving techniques
  • Hazard recognition and reaction

How to Enroll

To enroll in our 5 Hour Course, simply select a date and time that works for you and pay online. After payment, you will be redirected to a link to register for the course on Zoom. Please follow these instructions:

1. Attend the course with a valid learner's permit.

2. Be audible and visible throughout the entire course.

3. Use a computer or phone with camera and audio functioning.

4. Download the Zoom app and join the virtual classroom.

5. Send a clear, high-quality picture of the FRONT and BACK of your learner's permit at least 12 hours prior to the course.
