Our Story

At Rubenzahl, Knudsen & Associates Psychological Services, P.C., our mission is to provide high-quality, individualized mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, relationships, and families. Our team of licensed professionals, including psychologists, therapeutic social workers, and mental health counselors, are dedicated to delivering empathetic and effective care.

Our Services

• General Psychological Services: Our therapists use empirically validated approaches to ensure high-quality psychotherapy. We provide individual therapy, couple and family therapy, and coordinate with medical professionals as needed.
• Psychological Assessments: We offer objective measurements of individuals, providing valuable resources for educational and medical settings.
• Forensic Psychological Services: Our experienced professionals provide consultations to the legal community, including child-custody evaluations, sexual abuse validation evaluations, and more.

Our Staff

Our dedicated team includes:

• Practice Owners: Samuel Rubenzahl, Ph. D., a licensed psychologist and experienced therapist, provides psychotherapy, psychological testing for children and adolescents, and forensic consultation and assessment. Dr. Rubenzahl earned his Doctoral degree in Clinical-Child Psychology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1997 and his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Hamilton College in 1992. Dr. Megan E. McRae, Psy. D., is a licensed psychologist and experienced therapist, providing psychotherapy and psychological testing for children and adolescents.

Our History

Our journey began in 1993, when Dr. Donald Danser started a private practice in outpatient settings. In 1998, he met Dr. Samuel Rubenzahl, and in 1999, Dr. Knudsen joined the practice. In 2007, the practice merged to form Danser and Knudsen, and Dr. Rubenzahl became a partner in 2009. Over the years, we have grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of our community.
