Established in 2006, CTC was founded by two teachers committed to creating a learning environment where students can acquire the skills necessary to become independent learners. With a team of dedicated educators, CTC is dedicated to helping every student achieve academic, professional, and personal success.

At California Tutoring Company, we believe that every student can be a SUPER student. Our mission is to create individualized learning programs that not only meet each student's academic needs but also address their learning style, foster goal-setting, encourage self-expression, and provide a safe and comfortable learning environment. We are committed to providing the best possible tutoring services for students and their families by staying up-to-date with changes to educational standards and aligning our practices with state and local curriculum and standards.

Tutoring Services

At CTC, we recognize that not all students have the same academic needs, and we are committed to delivering educational services in an effective and comfortable manner for each student. We provide individualized learning programs, uniquely designed for each student, that aim to help students learn for today and retain the information and skills for tomorrow. Our one-on-one tutoring sessions for K-12 students are 1-hour (60 minutes) in duration and occur 1-2 times per week based on the needs of the student. All tutoring sessions take place in the comfortable and safe learning environment of our Porterville learning center.

At CTC, we believe that students should not only learn academics but also improve their overall skills. That's why we offer tutoring in a variety of topics and subjects, including Basic Math, Integrated Algebra, Trigonometry, English Language Arts (Composition and Literature), History, Skills review, and Homework Help. Our tutors are matched with students based on academic needs, personality, and temperament, and schedule to attain optimal results. Students are assessed before the start of the program and again at designated intervals throughout the program to measure growth and retention.

College Planning

At CTC, we understand that planning for college can be overwhelming, but we believe that it's never too early or too late to start. That's why we offer a variety of services for families in need of assistance in planning, preparing, and applying to college. Our in-house college counselor provides one-on-one services for students, with the intended goal of making the college application process more accessible and manageable. Our college counselors help students navigate the steps to find the best college to meet their needs.

CTC is excited to offer college counseling and education planning services for students of all ages and levels. Our college counseling services include college matching, high school class choices, essay proofreading, application guidance, and much more. Our college counselors work with students and families to create a comprehensive plan to help students reach their college and career goals.
