Our History and Mission

The Davis Island Yacht Club is a private, member-owned yacht club situated at the southern end of Davis Islands in Tampa, Florida. Established to promote sailing in all its forms, we provide a vibrant community of enthusiasts who share a passion for racing, cruising, and socializing. Our mission is to foster a spirit of good fellowship and helpfulness among members, while promoting safety on the waterways.

Our Services

As a member-owned yacht club, we offer a wide range of services to cater to the diverse needs of our members and guests. Our facilities include wet and dry slips for members' boats, a pavilion for small sailing craft, a clubhouse, and a swimming pool. The dining room and bar serve members, their guests, and participants in our numerous regattas and educational programs. Our social functions connect festivities to sailing activities, providing a unique experience for all.

Club Activities and Events

At the Davis Island Yacht Club, we pride ourselves on hosting a full schedule of sailing races, including the highly acclaimed Thursday Night Series, which is open to anyone interested in sailing. Our active cruising fleet and robust youth sailing program, the Davis Island Youth Sailing Foundation, ensure a constant flow of excitement and activity. We also participate in regional and national events, showcasing our members' skills and camaraderie.

Membership and Visitation

We warmly welcome visitors to our club, extending reciprocal benefits to members of other yacht clubs with whom we have established agreements. To ensure a smooth check-in process, we kindly request that visitors bring their yacht club membership card (digital or physical) and a photo ID. Reservations are not required except on Friday nights and special occasion events.

Club Policies and Rules

Please note that wet bathing suits are not allowed inside the clubhouse at any time. All purchases in the dining room, bar, or ships store must be paid in full with a credit card. We do not have a specific dress code, except for the rule that shirts and shoes are required inside the clubhouse. While pets are not allowed inside the clubhouse, porches, or the pool area, they are welcome in the Regatta Bar area and your boat or slip areas, provided they are on a leash and under control.
