Our Story

Matrix Environmental Technologies was founded in 1991 in Rochester, NY, with the goal of providing environmental consulting and site remediation services. We entered the remediation industry during its early growth phase, when new technologies and remediation methods were evolving. We contributed to the industry with innovative groundwater and air treatment methods that were patented. Our service area during these early years was Upstate New York and Vermont, working on sites in the shadow of Love Canal, Kodak Park, Xerox, and IBM Endicott. We remediated hundreds of sites to closure in the 1990s and 2000s, when petroleum underground storage tanks (USTs) were being replaced and gasoline filling stations upgraded to pay at the pump convenience stores.

• GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar): We use GPR technology to locate underground storage tanks, detect soil and groundwater contamination, and provide site assessment services.
• Oxygen Injection: Our patented Oxygen Injection Systems (MOIS) are designed to enhance bioremediation, reduce contaminants, and improve site remediation outcomes.
• Consulting/Engineering: Our team of experts provides consulting and engineering services, including site assessment, remediation design, and project management.
