Birdstone Winery is a family-owned operation on the eastern edge of Madera County. Since the day we opened our doors, we've been obsessed with finding the best fruit, creating great wine, and making sure our guests have the best experience possible. Our dedication to our wines and our customers keeps us busy, sometimes crazy, but that's what Birdstone is all about - our wine and our guests. Our Story

Tony and Kimberly Kirk established Birdstone Winery with the goal of producing world-class wines from Madera-appellation grapes. A friends and family effort from the start, Birdstone's winemaking team includes Tony, Kimberly, and their sons Travis and Conner. It's not uncommon to find Tony and Kim's siblings, parents, or friends behind the bar in the Tasting Room or helping to crush grapes during harvest. Tony Kirk was born and raised in Madera, California, and got a taste of the wine business while studying at California State University, Fresno. After visiting over 100 wineries, Tony was intrigued by winemaking and completed courses at UC Davis and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Our Wines

At Birdstone, our wines are our passion, our heart, our obsession. Our wines are hand-crafted from local fruit and aged in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. We work with local farmers to be certain we have the best fruit possible - so we can create the best wine possible for our customers. At Birdstone, we select varieties that our customers love, like Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Port. We also make wines from lesser-known varieties that grow amazingly well in Central California. If you're looking for something special or searching for a new favorite, try our Tempranillo, Sangiovese, or our Barbera.

Visit Us

The Birdstone Winery Tasting Room is open Friday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Limousines or groups of 10 or more by appointment only. We're located at 9400 Road 36, Madera, California 93636, halfway between Freeway 41 and Highway 99, just 4 miles from Children's Hospital Central California.
