Introduction

In 1995, the Minnesota legislature recognized the need for innovative approaches to caring for adults living with serious and persistent mental illness. This vision led to the creation of the Adult Mental Health Initiative (AMHI) in west-central Minnesota. Over the years, the initiative has evolved into the Regional Mental Health Consortium, serving five counties: Douglas, Grant, Pope, Stevens, and Traverse.

Our Collaborative Approach

Our approach to mental health services is built on collaboration and partnerships. We believe in:

  • Consumer-centered care: We actively involve individuals with lived experience in every step of the process, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
  • Community involvement: We foster partnerships with families, local organizations, and state agencies to expand our reach and effectiveness.
  • Systemic change: We advocate for policy changes and innovative solutions to address the complex challenges of mental illness.
