At Alaska Scrap & Recycling, we understand the importance of metal recycling and its impact on the environment. We believe in providing an easy and free alternative to throwing away unwanted metal items. Our goal is to make metal recycling accessible and beneficial for everyone in Anchorage and Soldotna, Alaska.

Our Services

We pay for non-ferrous metal (non-magnetic) such as copper, brass, lead, aluminum, and stainless steel at current market prices. We have two convenient locations in Anchorage and Soldotna, where you can drop off your scrap metal. We accept cash only for fees (when applicable).

What We Accept

We accept a wide variety of metal items, including:

• Cars, trucks, and buses (without fluids, tires, or freon)
• Bicycles
• Busheling
• Cable and wire
• Cast iron
• Chain link fencing
• Coils
• Empty drums, barrels, and other containers (must be able to see inside entire vessel)
• Gas cylinders and tanks (with valves removed)
• Heavy melt steel
• Industrial metals
• Lead acid batteries
• Metal banding
• Metal roofing
• Motor blocks
• Plumbing parts
• Radiators
• Rebar
• Sheet metal
• Shredded scrap
• Steel
• Tin
• Turnings
• Wheel weights
• Appliances without freon (doors must be removed)

What We Charge For

We charge for the following items:

• Appliances with freon (doors must be removed) - $25 per appliance
• Vehicles with fluids - $55 environmental & $25 freon removal fee per vehicle
• Tires, individual or on a vehicle - $7.50 per tire

What We Do Not Accept

We do not accept the following items:

• Aerosol cans
• Tanks with fluids
• Closed tanks or drums
• Hazardous waste or chemicals
• Flammable materials, ammunition, or explosives
• Any fluids
• Fluorescent lights
• Paint cans
• Radioactive materials
• Wood
• Dirt
• Yard debris
• Concrete
• Asphalt
• Plastics
• Rubber
• Items containing PCB's
• RV's or Camper Trailers
• Lithium-Ion batteries
• Hybrid or Electric vehicles
• Other non-metal items or material
