Erdei Designs is more than just a furniture workshop; it's a legacy built on generations of passion for craftsmanship and the enduring beauty of wood. The name Erdei, derived from the Hungarian word "Erdo" meaning "forest, " speaks to our deep connection to nature and the origins of our craft. As a family, we've been immersed in the world of woodworking for three generations, with each passing member preserving and refining the tradition. The legacy began with my grandfather, a master carpenter born in 1902 in Romania. His expertise, honed in the heart of Europe, was passed down to my father, who inherited not just his father's technical skills but also his unwavering commitment to quality and artistry.

This commitment to excellence, passed down like a precious heirloom, found its way to me. Growing up, my summers and spring breaks weren't filled with typical childhood activities. Instead, I spent my time in our family wood shop, witnessing the magic of transformation as raw materials surrendered to the skilled hands of my ancestors. It was in those moments, surrounded by the intoxicating scent of aged wood and the rhythmic sounds of tools, that my own love affair with woodworking began.
