Our story began in 2004 as a small gardening service called 'Pete's Gardens', founded by Pete, who had a profound love for exploring wild places and gardening with native plants. Growing up in the woods, Pete developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the natural world.

As a young boy, Pete would spend hours exploring the woods, creeks, rivers, and beaver ponds, collecting insects, plants, rocks, and wild foods for various projects. He would spend hours poring over his parents' library of field guides, attempting to identify the wonders he discovered. This fascination with the natural world remained with him throughout his life.

In 2003, Pete began propagating native plants, initially giving them away. However, as the demand grew, people began to offer him money for the plants he carefully nurtured. This marked the beginning of East Bay Wilds Native Plant Nursery. Today, we are proud to be a leading native plant nursery, dedicated to providing a wide range of native plants and expert guidance to help our customers create their own natural havens.
