Who we are

The Tennessee Association of Fairs (TAF) is a non-profit organization that brings together county fairs across the state of Tennessee. We exist to support and empower these local events, fostering their growth and ensuring their lasting impact on communities.

Our Mission

Our primary goals are:

• Promoting and advocating for Tennessee county fairs across the state.
• Sharing best practices and resources to enhance the quality and impact of county fairs.
• Preserving the rich heritage of Tennessee county fairs and their traditions.
• Supporting the youth involved in these events through scholarships, competitions, and educational opportunities.

What we do

TAF actively engages in various initiatives to support Tennessee county fairs including:

1. Communication & Resources

• Establishing and maintaining a central platform for information and communication among county fairs.
• Disseminating vital resources and tools to assist fairs in areas such as marketing, promotion, and planning.
• Providing a forum for sharing successful practices and innovative ideas through conferences, workshops, and online resources.

2. Advocacy & Support

• Working with state and local governments to secure funding and resources for county fairs.
• Collaborating with partners on initiatives that benefit fairs, such as insurance programs, volunteer recruitment, and educational programs.
• Advocating for the unique value and importance of county fairs in Tennessee communities.

3. Development & Education

• Sponsoring workshops and conferences focused on contemporary trends and innovations in fair operations.
• Offering educational programs to equip fair managers and volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge.
• Conducting research and disseminating data on the economic and social impact of county fairs in Tennessee.

4. Recognition & Awards

• Recognizing outstanding county fairs through awards and scholarships.
• Promoting and celebrating the achievements of fair participants and volunteers.

5. Community Engagement

• Fostering partnerships with community organizations to expand the reach and impact of county fairs.
• Organizing volunteer opportunities to engage local residents and contribute to the success of fairs.
