Transforming lives through personal growth and freedom.
Overview of Psychotherapy
Welcome to my psychotherapy and counseling practice, located in the heart of San Francisco. I am Kimberly Pratt, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW #27356) with extensive experience in helping individuals and families move beyond perceived limitations to reach their fullest potential. I believe that symptoms, distressing emotions, relationship conflicts, and other challenges are not just problems, but rather the pathway toward greater personal growth and freedom.
About Social Work
I received my Master's degree from the University of California - Berkeley and hold a license in clinical social work in California. My background in social work has equipped me with the necessary skills to understand the complex interplay between individuals and their environments. I have a deep appreciation for the social and cultural factors that shape our identities, experiences, and relationships. As a social worker, I am committed to promoting social justice, empowering clients, and fostering a sense of community and connection.
My Approach and Process
My approach to psychotherapy is holistic, integrative, and client-centered. I draw from a variety of methods and techniques to help clients achieve their goals, emphasizing cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices. I view therapy as a collaborative process, where clients and I work together to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be causing distress or limiting their potential. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where clients can feel heard, understood, and validated.
In my practice, I work with clients to identify and shift unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. I help clients cultivate self-compassion, resilience, and self-awareness. I also integrate mindfulness techniques to help clients develop greater present-moment awareness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation. My aim is to help clients build a stronger sense of self, improve their relationships, and live more fulfilling lives.
