Gabc Weekday Preschool

Located in Athens, Georgia, Green Acres Preschool is an extension of the ministry of Green Acres Baptist Church into the community. We were established in 1969, and our purpose is to provide opportunities for children to grow mentally, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. We strive to create a safe, secure, and loving Christian environment to educate children and support families in the important task of child rearing.

Our Mission

Our mission is to share Jesus with each child while building their confidence in learning and socialization, and to form a lasting relationship with families to best minister to each one.

Curriculum

We believe that learning is an interactive process, and children acquire knowledge through active exploration. We also believe in incorporating a spirit of cooperation as well as developing a positive attitude toward education. We use the Georgia Pre-K standards as a guide for our teachers. Learning is centered around themed units that utilize each of the standards. Bible stories and songs that will supplement each theme are incorporated daily.

Early Bird Program

We offer an optional early drop-off beginning at 8:15 am each day for an additional $4/day. Parents must let us know in advance if they will be using this program to ensure that we are adequately staffed each day.

PreK Extended Day

We offer an optional Pre-K Extended Day Program from Monday-Wednesday from noon-2 pm for an additional $115/month. Lunch and snacks are included.

Special Events

We have many activities planned throughout the year, such as our annual Christmas Program, Farm Day, Community Helper month, Easter, and field trips. We celebrate events and holidays with our families at Thanksgiving, Christmas, "Muffins with Mom" and "Doughnuts with Dads". We also host a Pre-K graduation ceremony in May.

Registration

To enroll, two items are required: 1) Registration Form 2) Registration Fee. There will be a non-refundable registration/supply fee of $150.00/child ($200 family max.) that is due at the time of enrollment. This fee is prorated for mid-year enrollments. Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will open January 24-25th for our in-house families and January 26th to the public.

Class Information & Registration

We offer classes for children from 1 to 5 years old. Our classes are designed to meet the unique needs of each child, and we strive to create an environment that is both challenging and fun.

Classes Offered

• 1 year old/Young 2's (starting age: 15 months by Sept. 1st of enrolling school year)
• 2 year old (3/2021-9/2020)
• 3 year old
• Pre-K

Age Requirements

We follow the Sept. 1st cut-off for birth dates. For our 1's/Young 2's class, the starting age is 15 months by Sept. 1st of the current school year AND walking.

Registration Fee

The registration fee is $150.00/child ($200 family max.) and is due at the time of enrollment. This fee is prorated for mid-year enrollments. The registration fee may be paid by cash, check, or online by credit/debit card.
