The Summerville High School Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the student experience at Summerville High School. Since our establishment in 2003, we have been committed to providing resources that support Arts, Academics, and Athletics, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

Our Mission

Our mission is to act as a support system for the Summerville Union High School District. We plan projects that have long-term effects, fund projects that could never be funded by other sources, and provide the materials and finishing touches that help us enhance the educational experience for students at Summerville. We believe that every student deserves access to the best possible education, and we are committed to making that a reality.

Our Services

The Summerville High School Foundation offers a variety of services and programs designed to support students, teachers, and the wider school community. These include:

• Bear Grants: Our Bear Grant program provides funding for projects and initiatives that support Arts, Academics, and Athletics. Since its inception in 2010, we have granted over $100,000 to support a wide range of projects, from new sports equipment and musical instruments to innovative classroom technology and community gardens.
• Hall of Fame: Our Hall of Fame awards recognize outstanding students and community members who have made significant contributions to Summerville High School. This tradition has a long history, and we are proud to continue this legacy by honoring those who have made a difference in our community.
• Sponsorship Opportunities: We offer a range of sponsorship opportunities for individuals and businesses who wish to support our work. From Platinum Sponsors to Bronze Sponsors, there are many ways to get involved and show your support for Summerville High School.
• Volunteer Opportunities: We rely on the hard work and dedication of our volunteers to help us achieve our goals. Whether you have a few hours to spare or can commit to regular volunteering, we would love to hear from you.

Our Impact

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, we have been able to make a real difference in the lives of Summerville High School students. In the 2022/23 academic year alone, we granted $19,185.00 through our Bear Grant program, supporting a wide range of initiatives that enrich the educational experience for students.

We are also proud to have supported the inaugural season of Summerville High's Swim Team, which showed that hard work yields rewards. The team achieved a note-worthy feat by qualifying for the Sectional Playoffs, thanks in part to the new warm-ups provided by the Foundation.
