Our Story
Our journey began in 1987 when self-taught chef and Denver native Kevin Taylor opened Zenith American Grill, serving his unique take on southwestern cuisine. Six months after opening, Zenith was among the top-rated restaurants in Denver, earning a prized four-star rating and securing Taylor's place on the culinary map. Over the years, Kevin Taylor has opened multiple successful concepts, including the eponymous four-star, four diamond Restaurant Kevin Taylor, Brasserie Z, Prima, Dandelion, and many others.
Throughout his career, Kevin Taylor has been recognized for his outstanding culinary skills, earning awards and recognition from national media outlets, including Bon Appetit, Restaurant Hospitality, and GQ. He has also been inducted to both the American Culinary Association's Colorado Chef's Association and Nation's Restaurant News Fine Dining Halls of Fame.
Meet the Team
Our team is led by CEO and renowned chef Kevin Taylor, who has spent over three decades perfecting his craft. Kevin's wife and business partner, Denise Taylor, oversees general operations at Hickory & Ash and caters and events throughout the company. Their son, Ryan Taylor, is the Executive Chef and Partner at Hickory & Ash, where he works alongside Kevin to create handcrafted, Colorado-centric cuisine.
